Upon receipt of your scope, the initial image is photographed using the USAF resolution target, which is the standard in optics. Angle of view, field of view, and resolution are checked and recorded on the quality control report. Your scope is then examined for any visible damage. We examine the eyepiece, distal end, insertion tube, and light fibers. Any visible damage (i.e. Scratches or dents on tubing or nicks in eyecup) is examined for things such as cracks and/or a broken window. Distal end is examined for broken or damaged objective or objective window. Insertion tube is examined for dents, etc. Optics lens train is examined microscopically. We clean all optics and replace all damaged optics and correct any misalignment of optic system. All repairs that are needed to bring the scope back to functional condition are performed. Minor scratches, nicks, or dents are not normally corrected unless especially requested by you.
